Pediatrics Department

Welcome to the DotHouse Health Pediatrics Department. Our providers are committed to your child’s long term health and well-being and are able to provide care in multiple languages for your convenience.

During regular visits, our team is focused on evaluating your child’s normal growth and development, school readiness and social maturation. Our pediatricians can connect your child to other DotHouse Health resources including WIC, the Behavioral Health Department, Dental and Eye Care Clinics and Community Programs.

We also offer our patients ages13-21 an adolescent clinic five days a week. The clinic includes routine medical care with a specific focus on behavioral health, sexual health and overall emotional well-being.

The Pediatrics Department has provided excellent care to this diverse community for decades. They understand a family’s unique healthcare needs and will work closely with you to make sure that your child is healthy for many years to come. To schedule an appointment, or if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s health please call our main line at (617) 288-3230.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I am very concerned about my child’s health but the health center is closed. Who can I call?

When the health center is closed, please call 617-288-3230 and our night time answering service will take your call. A nurse service or one of our doctors will return your call very shortly. They will discuss the situation with you and decide if your child must go to an emergency room or if they can wait to see a doctor the next day.

My child requires urgent care. Can I walk-in for an appointment?

Please call the Pediatric Nurse Line at 617-740-2445. A nurse will identify a time for your child to come in for an appointment that day with their primary care provider. If your primary care provider is unavailable that day, we will schedule an appointment for you with another provider or schedule your child to bee seen in our Urgent Care Department.

Do I need to accompany my child during an appointment?

Yes, a child must be accompanied by a parent/guardian during their appointment. If your child is scheduled for an appointment in our Adolescent Clinic, we will ask the parent/guardian to leave the exam room during the visit.

How old are pediatric patients?

Generally, the Pediatrics Department serves all patients under 22 years of age.
