Attire
Basic Attire
As the Masquer-Aid Ball is an evening fundraising event, we do ask our guests to wear semi-formal attire. That generally means a cocktail dress for women, and a suit for men.
Fun Flair
As the Masquer-Aid Ball is also a fun evening full of dancing and mingling, and since we are so close to Halloween, we highly encourage a little flair! For those who want to keep things simple, a mask for the Masquer-Aid is a great choice. You can either demonstrate some creativity and make your own (and enter the mask/costume contest!) or purchase one from a costume store. Either option is fine.
No mask? No problem!
Masks will be available at the door (supplies are limited).
Costumes Welcome!
Really want to get creative? Feel free to wear an actual costume (with or without a mask, of course). Many of our staff members and volunteers will be wearing costumes, so rest assured that you will not be out of place. And, like those who wear a mask, you will be eligible for our costume contest and the prize it entails.
So About This Costume Contest…
Toward the end of the event and before dancing commences, each table will have an opportunity to discuss and vote on the person at the table with the best costume and/or mask. Each table’s representative will then be judged on the merits of their costume and/or mask. Criteria include: authenticity, originality, detail, and presentation. One costume and one mask will then be selected by our judges panel, and will win a prize!
