
Behavioral Health Clinician – Spanish Speaking
Position Summary
The Behavioral Health Clinician will be based primarily in the BH Dept and develop an ongoing caseload starting with a comprehensive diagnostic mental health assessment followed by establishment of a treatment plan for ongoing care. The Clinician may also be embedded in the primary care departments at the health center for one 4 hour session per week to provide quality clinical mental health consultation to providers and staff as requested. He/she will screen and assess at-risk patients for a variety of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, substance use, intimate partner violence, suicide risk and symptoms of trauma at the time of the primary care visit, and/or will provide diagnostic assessments, interventions, education, referrals, and consultations. The Clinician will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes primary care providers, case manager, and other administrative staff.
Education & Qualification
- Master’s Degree in Social and/or Human Services from an accredited school of social work, Massachusetts Licensure (LICSW, LCSW or LMHC)
- Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary staff and providers at external agencies.
- Professional, positive attitude, vision and understanding of the integration of behavioral health within the primary care setting.
- Sensitivity to the healthcare needs of underserved and vulnerable populations.
- Must be a team player who welcomes working across disciplines and departments.
- Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills. Can be flexible in approaches.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a community health, substance abuse, social work or clinical setting.
