HealthWorks Helps Low-Income Community Get Fit
HealthWorks at Codman, a major partner of Dorchester House, helps women from the Fields Corner and other Dorchester neighborhoods become fitter and lead healthier lives. This nonprofit gym provides a safe, accessible, and low-cost space for women to exercise. Patients at the Dorchester House and Codman Square Health Centers can even receive prescriptions for gym memberships from their primary care providers. Growth in Work at Dorchester House
The federal government has granted Dorchester House $7 million in stimulus funds. With this money, Dot House will be able to expand its facilities and improve the quality of care for our patients. The expansion will increase our capacity with 10 new exam rooms, 22 new full-time positions, and access for an additional 5,500 patients. All of this will help us achieve our mission of providing affordable, accessible, and exceptional health care to the members of our community.
